From 1 January 2025, the Maerker Plus portal will be discontinued. Maerker will remain available.
The Brandenburg-based IT service provider ZIT-BB has been offering the MaerkerPlus portal since 2017; it was designed as a platform for public engagement and discussion on various topics. However, only 14 out of a total of 193 towns, municipalities, associations of municipalities and local authorities signed a service agreement for the MaerkerPlus portal. In contrast to the successful Maerker portal, MaerkerPlus never really managed to establish itself. Consequently, the state’s IT service provider decided to discontinue the service from 2025.
As part of the state’s IT changes, it was also necessary to ‘clean up’ the Maerker and mark old tasks – some of which had not been formally completed but were in fact finished – as ‘completed’. This step was necessary to enable the Maerker portal to be moved to a more powerful server.
