Cleaning stumbling blocks

On 9 November 2024 at 10 a.m., the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin, together with the Herzfelde local history association and the Stolpersteine working group of Heinitz-Gymnasium Rüdersdorf, invites you to clean the Stolpersteine in the Herzfelde district. During the event, the Stolpersteine at all three Herzfelde locations will be cleaned and stories of the people who lived in these places will be recited. In this way, the community not only wishes to maintain the Stolpersteine, but also to focus on the memory of the victims of National Socialism and the horrific events of the Reichspogromnacht on 9 November 1938.

The meeting point is the stumbling stones at Hauptstraße 13 in front of the former department stores' in the Herzfelde neighbourhood.

Stolpersteine are small memorial stones with brass plates that are laid in front of the last homes of victims of National Socialism. They are intended to keep the memory of the former residents alive and raise public awareness of their fates. All interested citizens are cordially invited to take part in this important campaign. Together we can set an example for tolerance and against forgetting.
