Between the districts of Tasdorf and Herzfelde in the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin, the cycle path running parallel to the B 1 federal road – between the entrance to Tasdorf on Gutenbergstraße and the GRAF-Recycling, opposite the junction of the L 233 regional road towards Hennickendorf, has been completely closed until further notice as an immediate safety measure. This is due to severe damage to the cycle path caused by scouring, potholes and landslides.
As a result, cyclists must use the road. Signs indicate the hazardous section. To protect cyclists, the speed limit on the B 1 has also been reduced to 50 km/h on the affected stretch.
Regardless of this, construction work is due to begin shortly on the redevelopment of the B 1 / L 233 junction and the resurfacing of the L 233, Berliner Straße, in Hennickendorf. During the construction period, traffic on the B 1 will be diverted both past the aforementioned danger spot and past the construction site.
The extent of the damage is currently being assessed and measures to rectify the situation are being put in place. Given the scale of the problem, it will not be possible to clear the hazard site in the near future.
The State Roads Authority will provide updates on the next steps and asks for your understanding regarding the resulting disruption.
