From 1 April 2020, a new general decree of the district of Märkisch-Oderland on emergency care for children in daycare centres, schools and after-school care centres will come into force.
Most important changes:
- "One-parent rule" for legal guardians in the healthcare system
- Expansion of the infrastructure-relevant areas
Emergency childcare is provided for children of employees from the following areas:
Healthcare: In health technology and pharmaceutical areas, in the medical and nursing sectors, in inpatient and day-care educational assistance, in boarding schools in accordance with Section 45 of Book VIII of the Social Code, integration assistance and care for the mentally ill.
Security and order, administration of justice and law enforcement: police, prison system, penal system
Fire brigade: professional fire brigade/member of a volunteer fire brigade working close to home and ensuring daily availability
Public utilities and waste disposal companies: energy, waste, water
Transport and traffic: rail, public transport, petrol stations, logistics
Food supply: Nutrition from the wholesale warehouse to the retail trade, food producers, food processing companies, agriculture
Public administration: areas essential for maintaining security and order
Banks and savings banks: Personnel required for the maintenance of payment transactions
Cleaning companies: insofar as they are active in the critical infrastructure.
Emergency care can also be utilised if a parent or legal guardian works in the healthcare sector as listed above (one-parent rule).
