In cooperation with the Berlin State Commissioner for Stasi Records (LStU), the Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior offers counselling on the rehabilitation of SED injustice. This concerns the following areas:
The Criminal Rehabilitation Act (StrRehaG) offers the possibility of rehabilitating people who were imprisoned for political reasons. This would result in compensation payments and improved pension rights. Ultimately, a victim's pension can help those who were wrongfully imprisoned for at least 6 months.
The Occupational Rehabilitation Act (BerRehaG) offers the possibility of rehabilitationfor people who had to give up their job for political reasons. Here, too, it would be possible to improve pension rights and receive compensation.
The Administrative Rehabilitation Act (VwRehaG) opens up the possibility of having administrative decisions that served political persecution reviewed.
The VwRehaG also covers people who lost their lives as a result of assaults by the police and other forces during the suppression of the uprising of 17 June 1953 in the acceding territory without being detained and convicted. Their next of kin can now apply for support benefits.
In addition, the LStU employee accepts applications for access to the documents of the State Security Service of the GDR and advises on questions that arise on this topic.
The consultations are held in the form of one-to-one meetings.
In the municipality of Rüdersdorf, the consultation will take place on 10 March from 11.00-17.00 in Rüdersdorf Town Hall, room 113 ground floor.
