Mobility stations

Concept study of the districts

MOOS land station project

Oderland-Spree Mobility Centre - MOOS

The districts of Oder-Spree and Märkisch-Oderland face the challenge of designing local public transport in an innovative, modern and user-orientated way in accordance with the requirements of the law on local public transport in the state of Brandenburg. The "Oderland-Spree Mobility Centre" (MOOS) project therefore aims to establish a comprehensive network of mobility stations that meet the diverse mobility requirements of the region. The aim is to optimise access to environmentally friendly means of transport and to expand local public transport with flexible micro-mobility solutions in order to reach a broad user base. In the long term, the project aims to ensure the provision of services of general interest and provide new impetus in the region.

The aim of the project is to develop mobility stations that link a variety of transport options - e.g. for bicycles, buses or electric cars - and thus facilitate access to environmentally friendly means of transport. The focus here is on connecting these stations with so-called multi-functional houses - buildings that offer low-threshold opportunities for meeting, exchange and participation. These houses should not only strengthen the social and leisure infrastructure, but also serve as modern meeting places and central contact points that make people's everyday lives noticeably easier. By providing different types of care services, the project will not only provide the impetus for an increase in the quality of life in our region in the long term, but ideally will also provide new impetus for the local economy and services of general interest.

Working together for sustainable mobility

In the first phase of the project, the focus is on intensive analyses:

  • Location analysis: Where can mobility stations be sensibly placed and which buildings can be used as multi-functional buildings to offer easy access to as many people in the region as possible?
  • Potential analysis: What are the needs of our citizens and all other stakeholders and how can we fulfil them precisely?

Focus on citizen participation

All citizens are actively involved in the design process. You can contribute your ideas, wishes and concerns in workshops and with digital participation formats. Every perspective is relevant to making the project a success.

A flagship project for rural areas

By September 2025, a concept will be developed that provides concrete instructions and guidelines for the implementation of the mobility centres as social locations.

The programme is being implemented under the leadership of the Oder-Spree district in close cooperation with the Märkisch-Oderland district. Nuts One GmbH was commissioned with the implementation.
