Every year on the second weekend of Advent, the village centre in Rüdersdorf around the market square is filled with the scent of mulled wine, pre-Christmas music and shining children's eyes: it's Christmas market time. The trade association, volunteers and the municipality of Rüdersdorf with its building yard and Kultur GmbH once again organised a fantastic market this year. Numerous stalls from clubs, parties, artisans and traders invited visitors to stroll around.
The market got off to a very special start this year: to mark International Volunteer Day, Mayor André Schaller honoured particularly committed Rüdersdorf residents on stage, five of whom were able to receive their certificates in person: Elli Steckel, Nancy Düsing, Brigitte Pausin, Edda Rahn and Ute Hartwig. Susi Schüttel and Renate Elsner are receiving their honours these days.
