Regional conference of the Brandenburg Seniors' Council

On 22 June 2018, the Brandenburg Seniors' Council invited seniors' representatives from the districts of MOL, LOS and the city of Frankfurt (Oder) to a regional conference on the topic of "Further development of network structures for seniors' representatives". In the "Oderblick" meeting centre of the district association of the Volkssolidarität Frankfurt (Oder) e.V., discussions were held with committed members of the municipal senior citizens' advisory councils, representatives of municipalities and communities, as well as other regional stakeholders in senior citizens' work to improve networking and bundle the main tasks for the future.

In three forums, the participants discussed, among other things, how the senior citizens' advisory councils can become even more effectively involved in shaping local politics in the future. They discussed both opportunities and existing resources.
The further development of communication and the diverse use of new media was another focus of the conference.

In the summary, all participants confirmed that this opportunity to exchange experiences must be deepened and continued in order to break new and important ground in the work. There was a lively exchange of ideas on improving cooperation between the state's Seniors' Council and the municipal advisory councils.

This event was sponsored by the MASGF. Participation Ms Monika Mey, Senior Citizens Policy Officer.
