All visitors are welcome at the cemeteries in the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin, but there are a few rules that make the cemeteries a place of peace and relaxation.
The municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin has renewed the cemetery regulations (cemetery regulations) and the cemetery fee regulations (cemetery fee regulations) for the cemetery and funeral services of the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin.

General information
The cemeteries are open from 06:00 to 22:00. No burials take place after 14:00 on Saturdays and on working days.
Children under the age of 6 may only enter the cemeteries if accompanied and under the responsibility of an adult. Celebrations and memorial services in the cemeteries require the prior written consent of the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin.

The paths may not be used by vehicles or sports and leisure equipment (e.g. bicycles) of any kind. Prams, pushchairs, carts, mobility scooters for the disabled and vehicles belonging to the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin and service providers authorised to use the cemetery are exempt.

It is forbidden to smoke or consume alcoholic beverages anywhere in the cemetery. Dogs must be kept on a lead.


Design of gravesites


General principles
Each grave site must be designed in such a way that the dignity of the cemetery is preserved. Gravesites for urn burials must be prepared within 3 months, burials within 6 months after the burial. The gravesites must be bordered with borders. The municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin is solely responsible for the maintenance and design of communal graves. These are not to be entered or planted. No name plaques, letters, pictures, grave lights, statues, stones, flower pots or plant bowls may be placed. Flowers, wreaths and arrangements are to be placed in the designated area.

Design of gravestones
The erection and any changes to gravestones and other structures require the prior written consent of the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin. Gravestones may only be made of artistically worked natural stone, wood and metal. They must be constructed in such a way that they do not pose a danger to persons. Weatherproof photographs are permitted up to a size of DIN A6. The use of obtrusive colours and the affixing of provocative signs or gravestone inscriptions are prohibited.

The respective authorised users are obliged to maintain the gravesite. Planting may only take place within the gravesite. Only low-growing, ground-covering plants, perennials or shrubs may be used that do not exceed a height of 0.80 m and thus do not interfere with other gravesites, public facilities and paths and do not allow overbuilding with walkways and other accessories in the event of burial in a neighbouring grave. If the maximum height is exceeded, the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin is entitled to remove the plants at the expense of the authorised user without compensation and without prior notification.
The use of winter protection bonnets, plastic covers or similar objects is prohibited.

Neglect of grave maintenance
If a grave is not properly maintained or prepared, the authorised user must put the grave in order within a specified period of time at the written request of the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin. If this request is not complied with, gravesites may be cleared and levelled by the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin at the expense of the rightful user.
