How do we want to develop? Where are the limits to our growth? With these two fundamental questions in mind, the public participation process for the so-called "integrated urban development concept" will begin in October 2021. It will kick off with four events in all districts of the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin, which will focus on local issues. This will be followed by five thematic discussion rounds in the auditorium of the Rüdersdorf primary and secondary school (Brückenstr. 79a, 15562 Rüdersdorf bei Berlin).
In addition to participating in the public events, interested parties can submit their suggestions in writing by 21 November 2021 on the various topics that make living and working in the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin attractive. An online form and a downloadable form are available at insek.ruedersdorf.de. The municipality also publishes an extra double page in the centre of the current issue of the official gazette, which can be detached. For this purpose, the official gazette was produced in a special edition of 1000 copies (otherwise 250 copies) and distributed in the local districts. Flyers are distributed in schools and kindergartens as well as in public spaces. Direct participation is also possible via these.
Background:
The municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin, with all its contradictions, is at an exciting point in its development: we have innovative companies as well as industry that is undergoing change. We have the metropolis of Berlin on our doorstep as well as rural areas. We have a strong demand for building plots, but at the same time we also need sufficient daycare and school places. We have forests, meadows and lakes, but also an open-cast mine, the motorway, a federal highway and various state roads with enormous traffic loads. All of this needs to be connected. The so-called "Integrated Urban Development Concept" (INSEK) exists for this purpose. An unwieldy word for the question of how the people who live here imagine their community in 10 to 15 years' time. How do we want to develop? Where are the limits to our growth? The INSEK adopted in 2011 must be updated. Some things have already been achieved, others are outdated. We have produced an initial draft under the title "INSEK 2035 - Limits to growth". Based on this, we would like to develop a sustainable vision for our municipality together with the people in all neighbourhoods.
