On 5 July, the dedicated building authority employee Sabine Löser opened her exhibition "AUFBRUCH - Impressions from the savannah of Togo" in the town hall. Her colleague and deputy mayor Petra Schulz gave the welcoming address.
Many pictures tell of the impressions from her project trip to West Africa last autumn, which she undertook with the association DAZ e.V. from Greifswald. The association collected donations and funding and built wells, three schools and a training centre in one of the poorest regions of Africa to support the local children.
Appropriate music was provided: the drumming group from Friedrich Anton von Heinitz-Gymnasium, under the direction of Ms Knappe-Pech, filled the town hall with African rhythms and got visitors in the mood for the exhibition.
Following the tour and Ms Löser's reports, the chairman of DAZ e.V. (Hinrich Kuessner) reported on the association's work and the various projects it has been carrying out for several years.
The exhibition can be viewed until 31 August 2016 in the town hall of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin during opening hours.
