Opening of the exhibition "Bewegt und mobil älter werden!"

On Friday, 7 September 2018 at 12:00 noon, the citizens' exhibition "Bewegt und mobil älter werden!" will be opened as part of the 17th Rüdersdorf Health Days 2018 in the town hall of the municipality of Rüdersdorf. We cordially invite you to this opening ceremony in the town hall.

The travelling exhibition of the Alliance for Healthy Ageing in the State of Brandenburg promotes mobility and exercise in old age.

Whether dancing in Lübbenau, gardening together in Templin or playing boules in Oranienburg - the "Bewegt und mobil älter werden!" exhibition shows how older people in Brandenburg keep active. A total of 13 programmes are presented in the exhibition. It shows how varied exercise can be in old age: In the form of sport, dance and walking or everyday activities - such as walking to the shops. In rural areas in particular, joint exercise programmes are often an opportunity to meet up and socialise.

The people involved in these groups spoke openly in detailed interviews about their stories and experiences within the groups and allowed themselves to be photographed. At the same time, the movement groups were documented photographically in action. This extensive material was used to design the exhibition panels, whereby a panel was created for each project from characteristic interview statements and photos. The basic idea behind the citizens' exhibition is to present the attitudes, goals and motives of interest groups and to facilitate a public dialogue about them.

The citizens' exhibition presented here offers the opportunity to relive the diverse experiences of movement groups in Brandenburg in words and pictures. The aim is not only to provide information, but also to honour the personalities behind this work for the common good, as the majority of the groups presented in the exhibition can be traced back to the ideas and voluntary commitment of particularly dedicated individuals.

The exhibition can be viewed from 7 September 2018 until 31 October 2018 during town hall opening hours.
