Although it is already the end of May, the fountain on the market square has not yet been put back into operation. The reason for this is that the annual inspection revealed leaks that need to be repaired before it can be put back into operation. The order for this has already been placed. However, due to the high volume of orders, the specialist company commissioned cannot start work until the end of June at the earliest.
After weighing up all the aspects, it does not appear to make sense to fill the system before this repair, as water would constantly leak out of the system, which would result in a constant supply of fresh water. Furthermore, it is not possible to estimate whether this water leakage would cause damage to the substructure of the market square. As soon as the repair has been completed, the fountain will be put back into operation.
