The municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin invites you to a public information event on the current status of municipal heat planning on Monday, 26 May 2025 at 6 pm. The venue is the Herzfelde community centre (OT Herzfelde, Möllenstraße 12, 15378 Rüdersdorf bei Berlin).
Since 2024, the municipality has been pursuing the goal of making its heat supply future-proof, climate-friendly and independent of fossil fuels. The results of the inventory and potential analysis as well as possible suitability areas for heating networks are now available. These mark an important milestone on the way to a sustainable heat supply.
A separate dialogue with the industrial and housing sectors will take place from 3 p.m. on the same day. The target group here is primarily the large producers of waste heat and potential consumers. The aim of this first, non-public part is to develop concrete perspectives for possible implementation together with key players at an early stage.
This will be followed at 6 p.m. by a public event on the results and possible suitability areas: After the welcome address, Marcus Krücken (EWE NETZ) will present the key results of the heat planning. These include the legal framework conditions, current supply structures and possible suitability areas for future heating networks in the municipality. The analysis shows: Around 95% of the heat in Rüdersdorf near Berlin is currently generated using natural gas - a clear indication of the need for action in terms of the energy transition.
The analysis of potential is positive, as it shows that both the utilisation of industrial waste heat and the use of renewable energies - for example through heat pumps or photovoltaics - are realistic options for a more sustainable supply. Energy-efficient building refurbishment can also make an important contribution.
Starting at 7.30 pm, energy consultant Diana Lippold from the Brandenburg Consumer Advice Centre will provide practical information on which renovation measures make sense, how heating costs can be reduced in the long term and what funding opportunities are available. Afterwards there will be time for individual questions and discussion.
Participation is free of charge, registration is not required.

Municipal heat planning is a strategic tool for the municipality that offers citizens and businesses an initial orientation for their future heat supply - without initially setting binding targets. The aim is to create security and perspective and thus jointly pave the way to a CO₂-neutral future.
