Parkeulen day care centre
Description of the
This kindergarten is a small, family-run daycare centre in the Hennickendorf district.
41 children are looked after here in 5 core groups.
Here you will find functional corners, small group work and fixed reference teachers in the respective core groups.
The room structures and our pedagogy fit together wonderfully. This means that there are many opportunities for further pedagogical development.
Reggio pedagogy and Montessori pedagogy are a particular focus. These do not serve as a model, but as an educational philosophy in which the rights of the children and an optimistic view of the child take centre stage.
We endeavour to make our work transparent through documentation and good work with parents: "Making the child visible".
Working together with parents, the team and the provider is important in order to offer the children an environment that meets their needs.
The team
The facility is run by a diverse team of state-recognised educators with various additional qualifications. They are committed to contributing their life and professional experience, different strengths and competences to the day-to-day educational work for the benefit of the children. Interns at various stages of their training and from different types of school, a cook as well as a cleaner and caretaker complement and enrich the team.
The outdoor area
The garden area extends almost around the entire centre, is designed to be child-friendly and therefore invites children to play, run around, rest and be creative at any time of year. Children can sharpen their senses here, try things out and enjoy their freedom of movement.
The garden is also used to actively introduce children to their environment and nature. It is also a space for learning and experience. All activities can be transferred to the garden.
- We have a small children's playhouse, a huge sandpit, a plate swing and raised beds.
- A small workshop invites children to build, screw and saw.
- A mud kitchen encourages imaginative role play.
- A large aviary allows children to observe, stroke and care for the rabbits and guinea pigs.
- Many natural materials, such as tree trunks and stones, invite children to create their own designs.
- Regular "forest days" and excursions into the surrounding area deepen the connection to nature.
We also have a small petting zoo for the children. Our grounds are home to 5 dwarf rabbits, 2 guinea pigs, 1 cat and snails.
Opening and closing times
The kindergarten offers half-day and full-day care on weekdays from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
During school holidays, the daycare centre is closed for up to 20 days a year ("closing time").
Catering / meals
As part of the full-day catering, the children have breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack every day. We offer home-cooked, child-orientated, fresh meals using mainly local produce and organically grown food.
A vegan and vegetarian diet can be provided if required. Food intolerances are taken into account. We employ an in-house cook for this purpose.
Drinks (water and unsweetened tea) are available for the children throughout the day.
