Daniel Smyczek has been appointed for a further six years as local fire brigade commander of the Hennickendorf volunteer fire brigade. The 40-year-old has held this position since 2008 and was confirmed in office for a further six years by the mayor of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin, Sabine Löser, following the necessary consultation. Daniel Smyczek has been a member of the volunteer fire brigade since 1988.
His deputy is to be 29-year-old Philipp Apitz. He is currently liaising with the district authorities before he can be officially appointed by the mayor. The appointment will initially be for a limited period of two years, during which the designated deputy will have to complete two more training courses. Philipp Apitz has been a member of the volunteer fire brigade since 2004.
