Mammography screening is a preventive examination for the early detection of breast cancer and is covered by health insurance. It is aimed at women between the ages of 50 and 69 and is repeated every two years.
Mammography involves X-raying the female breast. The mammogram images are analysed by a team of specially trained doctors. This enables early findings and thus significantly improves the chances of treatment. For this reason, all eligible women should attend their screening appointment.
