On Tuesday, 5 December 2017, selected volunteers were honoured for their special commitment in the Herzfelde community centre. With this ceremonial honour, the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin paid special tribute to the volunteer activities - on the occasion of yesterday's Volunteer Day.
After the official opening, the mayor of the municipality, André Schaller, took over the recognition of the volunteers with words of thanks. The medals, certificates and a bouquet of flowers were presented by the chairman of the municipal council, Mr Neumann, as well as the heads of the local districts, Mr Pose on behalf of Ms Döppner-Smyczek and Mr Peschke. The special significance of the honorary office was emphasised once again. The honourees were then allowed to sign the municipality's golden book.
