Mayor's Cup
On 24 April 2010, the fishing club "Wieseneck 1965 e.V." organised the Mayor's Cup for the 5th time in a row on the Hohlen See in Rüdersdorf.
All fishing clubs belonging to the Rüdersdorf community were once again invited to this game fishing event. A total of 6 angling clubs accepted the invitation.
The aim of this event is for the Rüdersdorf fishing clubs to meet once a year for a Hegefischen and, after fishing, to exchange experiences of the club's work with the mayor at a cosy get-together. It goes without saying that some "angling gossip" also makes the rounds.
At a frosty 0° C, the pike fishing started at 06:00. By 9.30 a.m., all the anglers in the 6 boats had caught some decent numbers of white fish. The purpose of such stocking measures is to regulate the fish population in our waters, as their mass occurrence has a negative impact on the population of the so-called noble fish (carp, tench) and those fish species that are on the "red list".
A total of 36.57 kg of white fish were caught. They were weighed for static purposes and then put to good use.
Our mayor, Mr Schaller, presented the awards after the fish had been weighed. He presented the representatives of the fishing clubs with the trophies he had sponsored.
1st place: "Früh Auf" fishing club with 61 fish weighing 8,731 grams
2nd place: "Hennickendorfer Petrijünger e.V." fishing club
with 56 fish weighing 8,180 grams
3rd place: "Wieseneck 1965 e.V." fishing club with 54 fish,
weighing 7,340 grams
The participants in the Hegefisching then brought this all-round successful event to a close with a cosy get-together afterwards
