From 4 to 6 July 2025, the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin celebrated its traditional mining festival with a large turnout and a varied programme. The festivities kicked off on Friday evening in front of around 450 guests with an atmospheric traditional evening featuring the miners' procession, lighting and a taps strike, accompanied by music from the mountain band. Earlier in the evening, the hunting horn players from Strausberg got the guests in the mood for the evening.
On Saturday, around 3,500 guests flocked to the museum park, where a varied day with guided tunnel tours, a live blasting, a family rally, club stands and a musical programme awaited the guests with free admission. In addition to the family rally, highlights included the honouring of Bernd Pabel for his many years of commitment to the mining association, the concert by the mountain band and the atmospheric summer open-air cinema with Dirty Dancing. At the same time, the disco organised by the local fire brigade's support association ensured a great atmosphere well into the night.
The festive finale was the traditional mountain service in the Kalkberg church on Sunday.
We would like to thank all participants, guests and helpers for a successful festival weekend!
