Tradition meets new: Rüdersdorf mountain festival with an adapted concept and colourful family programme

The traditional Bergfest Friday kicks off the event: the museum park opens its doors from 18:30. At 8.00 pm, the hunting horn players from Strausberg will set the musical mood for the evening, before the ceremonial procession of the miners with lights and the taps of the mountain band form the highlight of the evening at 9.30 pm. Visitors can expect an impressive atmosphere with living tradition.

Saturday is all about families and clubs. The park is open from 10.00 am. A special moment follows at 11.00 a.m.: the spectacular show blasting at Germany's northernmost limestone open-cast mine. From 11:00 to 14:00, the mining association offers exclusive guided tours of the tunnel, and at 11:30 the exhibition in the former Rüdersdorf main laboratory opens.

The highlight of the day is the big hands-on rally between 12:00 and 16:00 in the front park area. Clubs from the community invite you to try out creative stations such as archery, drama courses, light point shooting and a picture quiz. Children can collect points with a stamp card and look forward to little surprises. Bouncy castles and a giant slide also ensure an exuberant atmosphere.

From 16:00, a festive procession with the mining association, the shooting club and the mountain band will parade through the park. At 17:00, the concert by the mountain band begins in the large marquee.

In the evening, there are two alternatives for all guests: from 20:30, the Fire Brigade Promotion Association invites you to a disco in the marquee, while you can relax on the lawn with a picnic in the park. At 21:30, the summer open-air cinema starts with the cult film Dirty Dancing.

Particularly pleasing: admission to the park is free both on Friday evening and throughout Saturday.

This year, for the first time, the Bergfest is being organised directly by Rüdersdorf town hall - not by Museums- und Kultur GmbH as in the past. The municipality has deliberately opted for an open and family-friendly concept that combines local traditions with new ideas.

The event will come to a fitting conclusion on Sunday 6 July at 10:00 a.m. with a festive mountain service in the Kalkberg church.

The municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin cordially invites all citizens, families and guests: Give the adapted Bergfest format a chance - and be surprised in the Museum Park!
