The municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin invites you to the 4th Brücknick on Friday, 13 June 2025, from 6 pm. The summer picnic on the Peter Lübkes Bridge took place three years ago as a special evening to mark the tenth anniversary of the new bridge being built. It has since established itself as a fixed date in the municipality's calendar of events. At the longest picnic table in East Brandenburg, guests can once again enjoy an atmospheric get-together in a relaxed atmosphere on the approximately 160 metre long pedestrian bridge over the Kalkgraben.
This year's musical accompaniment will be provided by Schöneich artist "Langschlenderer", a looping multi-instrumentalist who will create a very special ambience with rhythmic layers, soundscapes and melodic ideas. His live performance lends the Brücknick a creative, summery soundscape - perfect for a warm evening in good company. Handmade music that never sounds the same and builds up in a mesmerising way.
As in previous years, the tried and tested principle applies: everyone brings their own picnic. Whether it's a classic evening meal, sweet treats or light drinks - there are no limits to your imagination. Tables and benches are provided by the municipality so that everyone can sit down comfortably.
Mayor Sabine Löser is also enthusiastic about the fourth edition: "With the Brücknick, we have succeeded in creating a wonderfully uncomplicated offer for all people in the community and their guests. You'll love the informal atmosphere. Grab your family, friends or neighbours, come along and enjoy a special summer evening in the open air."
Background:
The wooden bridge in the town centre was completed in 2011 after a four-month construction period and replaced its predecessor from 1912, which was in danger of collapsing and had to be dismantled in 2002. Since 2022, the bridge has also visibly borne his name and commemorates Peter Lübkes. He was the head of the municipality from 1886 to 1915 and played a key role in shaping the development of Rüdersdorf for almost three decades.
