Press release - Landesbetrieb Straßenwesen Brandenburg:
From Monday, 19 May 2025, until the end of October 2025, a section of the B 1 federal road will be fully closed in the area of the junction with the L 233 state road (Berliner Straße) near Hennickendorf (Märkisch-Oderland). The reason for this is work to build the new junction. Traffic on the B 1 can be maintained in both directions at a reduced speed. A temporary bypass will be used, which could already be prepared in 2024.
The complete closure is necessary in order to fundamentally upgrade the last section of the B 1 for around 400 metres. In addition to the road construction work, adjustments to the embankment area are also necessary. The construction plan also includes the redesign of a commercial access road and the modification of the cycle path for approx. 150 metres in accordance with the new carriageway geometry. The carriageway in the new junction area has already been constructed.
At the same time, the renovation of the L 233 is continuing. Starting from the southern entrance to Berliner Straße and in the section between the entrances to the industrial estate, the road has already been renewed. A 200 metre long section in between is currently being completed. In the next stage, construction will continue towards the town centre.
